Anna's good friend Jennifer is getting married and Anna's gift is a wedding cake: a fabulous 4 tier White Chocolate Wedding Cake filled with local fresh berries and toped with green fondant. Anna also makes time to deliver three hors d'oeuvres to the bridle party before the event: Artichoke Asiago Squares, Devilled Eggs, and Champagne Shrimp on Endive.

It's beautiful outside, so why not join Anna and her friends for an impromptu beach party. Anna prepares Roasted Pepper and Eggplant Salad and Three-Bean Salad before heading over to Minors Fisheries to pick up fresh local fish for her pièce de résistance: Lakeside Paella. Her friends enjoy helping her cook on the beach- roasting their Potato Prosciutto Kebabs in an open fire and stirring the slow cooking Lakeside Paella to perfection right on the beach.


1005: Horse Races TV-G (30 min)

It's a day at the horses races for Anna and her friends, but first a casual outdoor lunch. Travel with Anna to a local farm gate stand to buy fresh cabbage and onions for her Peameal Sandwiches with Coleslaw. Next she makes French Fries with Caesar Dressing. A decadent Triple Chocolate Brownies dessert rounds out this perfect relaxing lunchtime meal.

The annual regatta is in town and everyone is in need of energy food to keep up the pace! Join Anna as she takes a tour of the Grimo Nut Nursery with Ernie and Linda Grimo and learns about various breeds of nuts, before she delivers her Granola Bars, Potato Vegetable Samosas, and Tofu Skewers with Walnut Pesto to her friend Katherine and a group of rowers.

The local jazz and blues fest is in full swing, and Anna has planned the perfect picnic with Michael and their friends Bob and Jean. Stop by the local honey apiary Charlie-Bee with Anna and get a tour from Charlie himself. Anna uses the fresh honey in her Club Sandwich Roll and rounds out the meal with a Wheat Berry Vegetable Salad, and a Jazzy Platz desert before packing it up for a music infused picnic lunch.


1008: Weekend Guests, Lazy Breakfast TV-G (30 min)

Michael's nephew Chris and his wife Anna are in town for the weekend and they've been invited over for a lazy and relaxing brunch. Anna gets a head start on the Blueberry Sticky Buns the evening before, and stops by the Muileboom Greenhouse for fresh tomatoes and cucumber for her fabulous Huevos Rancheros (bacon) first thing in the morning. The meal is rounded out with three fabulous Fruit Antipasti platters.

Anna's niece, singer/song writer Carrie Catherine, is in town playing for a local fundraiser. In this episode, Anna prepares substantial finger foods for her guests: Potato Mushroom Bruschetta (vermouth) and Rotisserie Chicken with four sauces; Red Lentil Dal, Tonnato Sauce, Easy Pepper Sauce, and Lemon Hummus. Anna stops by the Port Colborne Farmer's Market to pick up some fresh local produce for her recipes.


1010: Preserving TV-G (30 min)

Anna's friends Mike and Tina have a fabulous vegetable garden, and this year they've harvested more then they can handle. This episode of Fresh is all about preserving and creating meals based around preserved foods. Anna starts with her Super Burgers (pork) before she gets ready preserving her fabulous toppings: Chilli Sauce and Pickled Green Tomatoes. For dessert, Anna makes a fabulous Tiramisu Pudding.


1011: Pie Judging TV-G (30 min)

Anna's been asked to judge a pie baking contest for the town's local food festival, and this episode of Fresh is all about pie inspired recipes! Anna stops by the Williams Apple Orchard to pick ingredients for her Country Apple Pie. Next she creates a Potato Bisque with bacon and cheddar and her specialty, Anna's Tourtiere. Anna delivers her meal to her fellow judges before the pie tasting begins!

For the past eight years Anna has participated in the Eat to the Beat breast cancer fundraiser event. This event is all about healthy foods like Anna's Blueberry Muffins, and elegant hors d'oeuvres like Turkey and Trimming Pinwheels, and Squash and Cheddar Soufflés. Anna's good friend April is getting married, and for her wedding shower Anna is preparing the perfect ladies luncheon. Anna gets started on her Beet and Buttermilk Soup before heading out to see Andrew Vergalito at Italian Ice Cream to get the ingredients fro her fabulous Ice Cream Layer Cake. The centre of the meal is her savoury Luncheon Sandwich Torte.

Michael's co-worker at the local college is hosting a working lunch and Anna is catering a vegetarian meal. Anna begins with Vegetable Salad Rolls then heads over to friend David Irish's farm for fresh peppers and sage for her Roasted Garlic Vegetable Tart. No meal is complete without desert, and Anna finishes off with a delectable Honey Yogurt Cheesecake.

Anna's friend Susan is having an important birthday and is looking forward to an elegant dinner with a few of her close friends. Anna starts by preparing a Slow Roasted Prime Rib with a rich mushroom jus (brandy). She then heads to her friend Cheryl's farm gate stand to get fresh ingredients for a Warm Squash and Ricotta Salad. She finishes the meal with a Honey Walnut Torte “ a classic Viennese birthday cake.

Anna's parents are visiting and she's preparing a traditional Sunday Supper. In order to make a wholesome, hardy meal, she pairs a Whole Roasted Pork Loin in a mustard marmalade glaze with Roasted Root Vegetables in a warm vinaigrette. For desert, Anna heads to Whitty Farm to get fresh pears for her Spiced Chocolate Pear Tart.


1017: All Ages Dinner TV-G (30 min)

When friends with kids come over for dinner Anna makes a meal that's fun for all ages. She starts the evening off with a Fresh Vegetable Plate and a Sweet Onion Dip. For the main course she prepares a Three Cheese Pasta Bake and serves it alongside a Maple Garlic Roasted Chicken. To cap the evening off, Anna bakes Very Vanilla cupcakes “ a hit with adults and kids alike.


1018: Winemaker's Diner TV-G (30 min)

Anna hosts a winemaker's dinner, which showcases a variety of spectacular wines from a single winery. Anna invites her friend Charles, who works at a local winery, to help her carefully pair each wine with a specific dish. She begins with a Rosemary Roasted Rack of Lamb with date and pistachio salsa to serve with a robust red. Next she prepares a Three Onion Couscous and parsnips baked with Moroccan spices. For desert, a simple dish of Baked Figs With Honey and Yogurt that can be paired with either a red or a sweet wine.

Anna's relatives are coming over and she's preparing a harvest supper. She begins with a unique dish of Salmon With Horseradish Panko Crust served with a lemon dill butter sauce. All these seasonal ingredients combine to make the perfect fall feast for the Olsen family.

Anna's throwing together a spontaneous dinner party with French flare. With little notice she prepares an entrée of Turkey Escalope with Citrus Haricots Vert and Crème Fraiche Mashed potatoes. Even though she's short on time, Anna is able to pull off a French bistro style meal that is definitely not short on taste!

After a long week at work, Anna decides to make her family a meal of all their favourite comfort foods. She starts with a wholesome Pot Roast and Dumplings, with a Broccoli Cheddar salad (bacon). She visits a local micro-brewery to pick up beverages to sit back and relax with, as well as liven up the roast. For dessert Anna makes an Apple Cranberry Crisp “ topping off a meal fit for the perfect night in.

An evening alone with Michael gives Anna a chance to prepare a delectable, herb inspired meal. She heads to a local greenhouse to buy fresh herbs for her Tomato Basil Tart and Seafood Parchment Parcels (white wine). For dessert Anna prepares individual Crème Brulee Cheesecakes. These ingredients combine to create delicate aromas, perfect for a romantic dinner for two.


1023: Alsatian Reminiscing TV-G (30 min)

On a recent trip to Alsace, France, Anna and Michael were inspired by the sights and flavours of the region. On this episode Anna prepares a traditional Alsatian meal to share with friends as they reminisce about their travels. She heads to a local winery to find the perfect pairings for her Tarte Flambee, Choucroute Garni and Pain d'epices.
